Warning to residents after vehicle thefts in Undy.

Officers in Undy are asking residents to be extra vigilant following an increased number of reports of thefts from unattended vehicles this week.

Motorists are being urged to ensure that whenever they leave their vehicle unattended it is secure and no items are left on view.
The offences recently are as below:

Barons Court, Undy.

Sometime between 6:00pm on Wednesday 19th April and 1.15pm on Thursday 20th April, a vehicle parked in Barons Court, Undy, was entered and the following items were taken:

• Apple iPod Nano blue
• Two pairs of children’s sunglasses

If anyone has any information regarding the above, please ring Gwent Police on 101 quoting incident number: 225 20/04/17.

Apple Avenue, Undy.

Sometime between 7:00pm on Wednesday 19th April and 6.30am on Thursday 20th April, a Silver Mondeo parked in Apple Avenue, Undy, was entered and the following items were taken:

• Severn bridge TAG
• Locking wheel nut
• Large black Adidas gym bag
• Adidas bright blue with yellow stripes trainers

Badgers Walk, Undy

Sometime between 3:00pm on Wednesday 19th April and 8.30am on Thursday 20th April, a small white caddy VW van was entered in Badgers Walk, Undy, the following items were taken:
• Coat
• Sat Nav
• Tool Bag containing hand tools

If anyone has any information regarding the above, please ring Gwent Police on 101 quoting incident number: 76 20/04/17.

Teal Close, Undy.

Sometime between 10:00pm on Wednesday 19th April and 7:00am on Thursday 20th April, a vehicle parked in Teal Close, Undy, was broken into and loose change approx. £3.00 and a HP laptop were taken.

If anyone has any information regarding the above, please ring Gwent Police on 101 quoting incident number: 72 20/04/2017.

Update from Detective Inspector Amanda Thomas, regarding an assault in Neerings, Cwmbran:

“In March 2017, we appealed for information to identify someone that we wanted to speak to regarding a serious assault upon a young female near Neerings in Cwmbran. An e-fit of this male was also generated and circulated to the public.

“I would like to thank the public for their response to this appeal and for the many shares on social media that this generated. As the investigation progressed other victims were identified.

“I would like to update you that at 07.29am on 19th April, 2017, officers arrested a 17 year old male, who was later charged with common assault, assault by beating and two offences of sexual assaults upon a female. He was remanded in police custody and appeared in court this morning, Thursday 20th April 2017.

“He has now been further remanded into custody and will appear at Cwmbran Youth Court.”

We are investigating the report to identify who sent the email, but please be assured Gwent Police rarely charge for our services and if we do we will discuss this beforehand and an invoice will be created – we will NOT send an email asking you to pay us.

Should you receive any emails from businesses or people you do not know, please do not open any attachments as they may download malware on to your computer.

Missing 17 year old - can you help?

We need your help to find Thui Hoang, who hasn’t been seen since yesterday evening (Saturday 8 April).

Thui, who is about 5ft 2ins tall with long brown hair, was last seen at about 7.30pm in the Gatefield Road area of Sheffield.

She is thought to be wearing white Adidas trainers with black stripes on, a white Adidas hooded jumper, white Superdry tracksuit bottoms and a padded maroon waistcoat.

Officers want to hear from you if you’ve seen or heard from Thui since last night, or know where she might be.
