Llancaiach Fawr Manor

Built in the early sixteenth century, Llancaiach Fawr Manor is one of the finest examples of a semi-fortified manor house in Wales today. The Manor is open to the public and visitors are invited to step back in time and sample the sights, sounds and smells of 1645.

This innovative scheme allows people using the National Cycle Network to more easily access the facilities in our towns and villages. It also opens up the spectacular countryside and tourist attractions that lie along the path of the cycleway.

The Winding House

The Winding house offers a wide and varied events programme including walks, talks, family fun days, crafts and story telling. Our events range from seminars for special interest subjects to fun days out that all the family will enjoy. All our events are FREE but booking is always advised to avoid disappointment.

Really disappointed with the neglect and deterioration of Pontlottyn. I'm all for preserving nature but when the overhanging trees and dangerous wall opposite Waterloo Terrace force you onto a dangerous road, it's rediculous. The weeds are taking over between the bottom of Edmund st right across to Greenfield St. That's just 1 tiny section. I'd love to know why North of Newtredegar is ignored and neglected . Throughout June we’ve been posting about the dangers and consequences of drink/drug driving.

Last Saturday, our officers in Blackwood responded to reports of a possible drink driver in the area. It didn’t take long to find the car, which was being driven around with a flat tyre.

Officers stopped the driver and he was arrested when he failed a breath test BUT WAIT FOR IT……. He was just 17 years old and only passed his driving test a few months before! He even had a can of lager with him! #unbelievable #yourenicked
